Cows are calm looking animals. On the contrary(相反)they are nervous(胆小)ones. My sister, Louise, and her husband, Jack, own a dairy farm that lies four hundred miles away from our city. My daughter and son seldom pay visits to them.
At the invitation to their house for my sister’s thirtieth birthday, the four of us went there last Friday. My children enjoyed seeing their two cousins. It has been about two years since we last saw each other, so they had to get to know again, luckily, they seemed to like each other again. Jack was wonderful to us. I had nothing to do. As soon as I saw horn(喇叭)on the farm, I tried to blow it. Out rushed Jack—very polite but very firm.
He said,“You must never make sudden loud noises while cows are being milked. It upsets them and milk production(产量,生产)will drop. It does not matter if I have one or two cows.
